These terms govern truebyline.com and the True Byline browser extension. The product is operated by LAN Media Limited (“LAN Media”, “we”, “us”), registered in Scotland under company number SC775540. Registered office: 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN.

The service
True Byline tries to figure out if an image is real or not. Results are a read, not a verdict. They are not legal, forensic, or journalistic proof. You remain responsible for what you publish, share, buy, or decide.
Limits
Signed out: 3 checks a day. Free account: 10 checks a day. Paid True Byline: 30 checks a day for $12 a month or $120 a year. Counts reset the next UTC day. Anonymous checks from the same network that day still count after you sign in. Unused checks do not roll over. We may change limits.
Paid plans
Paid plans are billed in advance. You can update payment details or cancel from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless we say otherwise at checkout. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it. Card statements may show our trading name.
Accounts
Keep your password to yourself. Website login is how the extension signs in. Do not share access tokens. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.
Acceptable use
Use True Byline lawfully. Do not try to bypass limits, attack the service, scrape it in a way that impairs it, or submit content you have no right to process.
Photos
You must have the right to submit an image for a check. We do not keep the photo. We may store a hash, scores, and the page URL if you send one, so we can run limits and the product.
Availability
The product may change, break, or pause. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for decisions you make from a check, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Scots law.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief elsewhere.
